I was walking back to my office from court this morning, talking on the phone.  I was only about half a block away from the courthouse, which means that there were a lot of court officers and police in the area.  Suddenly, a guy in a down jacket and a hood ran by me, incredibly quickly.  He was really sprinting, which got my attention, and as he reached the corner, he passed a woman, snatched her purse, and ran down an alley.  I saw two detectives that I know, just standing on the corner, watching and doing absolutely nothing.  I was stunned, and began shouting to the person I was talking to, "These assholes just stood by and let a crime happen right in front of them," and I was gesticulating angrily in their direction.

And then someone yelled, "Cut!"

Yes.  There was a movie being filmed.  The cameras were down the alley and I hadn't seen them.  Needless to say, the detectives mocked me for the next few minutes.  Deservedly.

Pretty much the highlight of my day.

Oh no. Please don't feel badly, though. People think cameras are always very obvious during filming but, speaking as a former actress and extra, there are times when the camera isn't easily spotted even if you're on a set and you're in the darn scene.

I enjoyed a lot of it. Met interesting people, had some fun. I am glad I did it, even though it didn't end up being how I wanted to spend my life.

Only dangerous if everyone was oblivious as I was! Particularly because there are always TV shows and movies being filmed in that area. But it was really funny.
